The Early Records of North Carolina Series

    Not only wills are available from the Secretary of State in North Carolina: Other papers exist as reflected in volumes 1 - 3 below. The records in volumes 1 -3 include Greene and Sullivan counties in Tennessee. North Carolina counties include all counties extant in the years noted.

    Volumes 4 - 8 are, of course, North Carolina's oldest wills, which include the wills missing from the Grimes edition, as well as more than 10,000 persons missing from Grimes' work.
